Today marks the 9th year since the passing of Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001). Its just became the 25th and #RIPAaliyah is already trending on Twitter. Ever since her early days with Missy Elliot and Timbaland she was a force in the R&B world and was making her way into super stardom with a budding acting career (Romeo Must Die, Queen of the Damned). Often referred to as the "Princess of R&B" Aaliyah provided the soundtrack for so many relationships, breakups and makeups, with songs like One in a Million, 4 Page Letter, and Rock the Boat. And who can forget the song Are You That Somebody from the Dr. Do-little soundtrack. The one with the baby noise in the beat. So spin a tune and send up a prayer for the Haughton family. Today we remember Aaliyah.
